The band is made of Walter the computer on the bass & drums and ak doing all the rest

Platypuses have electroreceptors on their bill that help them find their preys

You'll never get what you want (Live)

You'll never get what you want

As a kid, rolling on the ground, kicking and screaming
In the candy aisle of the store
As a teenager, cursing and bitching
Cause you want someone else to do your chore

As a grown up, moaning and groaning
Cause life ain't as easy as it used to be
As an senior rambling and complaining
About anything new that you see

Let me try to make you see my point
Maybe you'll agree, then maybe you won't

You'll never get what you want
Cause you'll never stop waiting for more
Just be glad with what you have and who you are

Jesus wished to be bigger than the devil
The Beatles thought they were bigger than Jesus
Oasis wished to be bigger than the Beatles
Lots of bands wished they were bigger than oasis

More and more people want to get rich
get famous, live their american dreams
They think having more is always a plus
But it's not always as simple as it seems

Sometimes having more is worse than having less
You won't feel good with a life full of emptiness

You'll never get what you want
If you never stop waiting for more
Just be glad with what you have and who you are

Life is not a race
You don't know when you'll cross the finish line
So move at your own pace
Just be sure you're going somewhere and you'll be fine

Male platypuses have stingers with venom strong enough to kill a small dog

According to a random number, % of all people like something about Platypus Drive

Platypuses lack teats, their milk is released through pores in the skin

Sandbox (Live)

Sandbox

I've witnessed the fall of so many kings and crowns
I've lived more than my share of letdowns
I've had too much harmful thoughts but I no longer do
And fortunately, I've known some great days too

I've seen pains and laughs, shames and glories
I could tell a few thousands of these stories
And I know you're always somewhere around
Like a compass that shows me the way and keeps me alive

I'm not too sure I remember how old I am
Nor do I know how long I'll still be around
But I know that you, I'll always remember
And of course the mistakes we made together

They can talk, they can shout, they can hurt
Nobody will ever understand we were like brothers and sisters
Having a good time in a sandbox

I've seen pains and laughs, shames and glories
I could tell a few thousands of these stories
And I know you're always somewhere around
Like a compass that shows me the way and keeps me alive

Know that for you, I could probably give my life
I'm pretty darn sure I would also give my soul
You've brought me so so much, I hope that you know that,
And I hope it's not too late to say thank you

Platypus Drive is a one-man band, but it used to be a 3-piece band.

Too late when you're dead

Nowhere to go
Nothing to say
Label on your toe
On a frigorific tray

For you there will be
No more regrets
But there'll be plenty
For those who are left

Be sure to carry out everything you wanna do
Every single little thing that truly matters to you
You'll never be able to know when your time will be
So even if you're young, death is something you should foresee

It will be too late when you're dead
too late when you're dead
too late when you're dead

Go see the world
If that is your thing
Build a flying saucer
or a pretend time machine

Go meet people
Write a novel
A poem, a rondeau
A guitar solo

plant a tree
cross a sea
be a daddy
or a mommy

wear a hat
get a cat
grow a stache
give some cash

Play a game
Have no shame
Be a kid
get married

build a house
give advice
take your time
learn to sign

Be yourself
Or someone else
Choose a path
Take a bath

Bake a cake
Take a break

Enjoy rain
fly a plane
go to spain
use your brain

Be insane
start again

let people know
how you feel about them
express your love
before you're above

Actually, do what you want
but enjoy every moment
cause life can be painfully short

Be sure to carry out everything you wanna do
Every single little thing that truly matters to you
You'll never be able to know when your time will be
So even if you're young, death is something you should foresee

It will be too late when you're dead
too late when you're dead
too late when you're dead

The platypus is one of the very few mammals that lay eggs

Brand new band

Here we go again,
Give it another try
Gather up some friends
On whom we can rely

It has been done before
And has come to an end
But we'll just try once more
Cause it's a brand new band

It's another band
Planning another show
Will it go as planned ?
How the hell should I know ?
It's a new experience
A struggle that begins
That could get quite intense
or end up in the bin

Everyone's selves are merging
Into a new something
A stunning alchemy
Where gold is melody

And I know that someday,
The drums are bound to stop
Somewhere down the line,
The bass too will shut up

I know that eventually,
Guitars will have to cease
And at the very end,
My voice will rest in peace

But not now, not while blood still flows in our veins
Not while neural connections still function in our brains
We'll still try to make music and make it live on stage
No matter how many tries or bands and no matter our age
Maybe in the end we'll think it's been in vain
But in the meantime it's what prevents life from beeing plain
Music can make positive energy out of rage
So let's make something with it, let's write a new page

It's another band
Planning another show
Will it go as planned ?
How the hell should I know ?
It's a new experience

Brand New Band (Music vid from the old days)

European naturalists originally thought the platypus was a hoax

Platypus Drive was founded a frickin' long time ago
